#WTDSG: AMPED Trampolines

First we brought you Mood for Food – now The Eye welcomes you to our new segment: #WTDSG or What to Do in Singapore. The new installment focuses on bringing you not necessarily unheard of activities, but instead activities that are actually active and something that isn’t on your Go-To list of things to do on the weekend. So without further ado, we introduce to you: AMPED Trampoline Park.

Whether you’ve actually been there or just barely caught the end of a conversation about them – Trampoline Parks in Singapore are places you’ve likely heard of. However, one of the major holdbacks was that the most recognized parks – AMPED Trampoline Park – was on the far end of east coast, until now.

The new branch of AMPED Trampoline Park is nestled within the curves and turns of Orchard Road. Located on the second floor of The Herencia (46 Kim Yam Road just off of River Valley Road), this park far exceeds both of its predecessors.

Once you make your way through the relatively unmarked door, any apprehensions of the plain exterior disappear. There are trampolines upon trampolines upon trampolines as far as the eye can see. Each boasts different types of “activities.” Some of these include airbags which you can jump and flip into, a raised platform to jump/flip/twirl down into a foam pit below, a separate netted trampoline area for dodgeball and more.

All that jazz for just $12 an hour and a mandatory $3 for grip socks, which if we’re honest, look pretty cool and let you avoid slipping everywhere while jumping. That $12 also includes free water, which we decided to drink just 20 minutes after jumping because of the intense cardio workout (see video).

Some things to know:

Firstly, you’ll need to sign a waiver before you can get jumping, and if you’re not 18 you’ll need someone who is to sign for you. However, if you have been to AMPED at East Coast or Jurong East, they’ll have your name on file. The one-hour sessions also start at the beginning of each hour, so if you get there at a quarter past you’ll have a substantial amount of time before you actually begin. We’d advise instead you arrive at half past; that way you’ll have time to get everything sorted and if they do happen to be busy, you’ll still be able to get a band in time.

We recommend you get down to Amped Indoor Trampoline Park and jump on the offer!
